The 24/7 KOKONUT Dessert ATM in Costa Mesa

Most dessert in Orange County closes between 9 and 11. Ours does not close at all.

The 24/7 KOKONUT Dessert ATM is a self serve smart fridge stocked with our coconut pudding. Tap your card, the door unlocks, take what you want, close it. You get charged for what you took. No app, no line, no one asking if you want a bag.

Where it is

350 Clinton St, Costa Mesa, CA 92626

Open 24 hours a day, every day. It is pinned on our store locator, and it has its own Yelp page if you want directions or want to leave a review after a 2am run.

What is usually inside

Stock rotates, but the fridge generally carries the full flavor range in 11 oz jars:

  • Mango-nificent, the runaway favorite at this machine by a wide margin
  • Astro-Berry Drift, strawberry
  • Peach-a-Boo, peach
  • Coconut Cloud Whip, the plain original
  • The Dark Side of Sweet, black sesame
  • We are a Match-a, matcha
  • Taro-ble to Resist, taro
  • Golden Jelly Elixir, peach gum
  • Depresso? Espresso, Vietnamese coffee

All plant based, dairy free, gluten free and soy free.

Why a fridge and not a vending machine

A normal vending machine drops your item down a chute. That is fine for chips and terrible for a glass jar of chilled pudding. This is a refrigerated smart cooler instead, so you open a door and pick the jar up with your hand. Nothing gets shaken, nothing gets dropped, and it stays cold the whole time.

Good times to know about it

  • After 10pm, when the dessert shops around South Coast Plaza and The CAMP have closed.
  • Before the beach, since sealed jars hold in a cooler for the afternoon and do not melt like a cone.
  • When you want one thing and not a delivery minimum plus fees plus a tip plus a 40 minute wait.
  • Late shifts and early flights, because 3am counts as open.

If you are not in Costa Mesa

Seven other Orange County spots carry KOKONUT during normal hours, including Nook Coffee in Costa Mesa, Qin West Noodle in Irvine and 949 Grill Lounge in Santa Ana. See the Orange County guide for the full list, or order a bundle and keep your own fridge stocked.
